Taylorville, Illinois
This newly constructed classroom building, replacing two pre-existing modular units, has brought significant enhancements to the educational institution. Housing six general classrooms, a dedicated nursing classroom, a fully-equipped science lab, restrooms, administrative office space, and a student center, it promotes both learning and interaction. The design carefully integrates the new structure with existing buildings to form a rejuvenated courtyard, while also placing a strong emphasis on energy efficiency with natural daylighting strategies, enhanced insulation, and cool roof surfaces. The exterior, a blend of brick, concrete block, metal panels, and glass, brings a contemporary aesthetic that revitalizes the campus, with an exterior canopy and sunscreens adding to its energy efficiency. This building not only breathes new life into the campus with its functional spaces but also underscores the institution's commitment to sustainability.
